Light plays an important role in our life and we often do not realize its relevance. Modifying the light source, the shape and appearance of the space also changes and a basic room becomes particular and attractive.

Everyone should understand how important light is for a house because light can make the difference in terms of effect, suggestion, charm and perspective of all the objects present in the room and this is even more important if we want to emphasize our preferred design object.
La luce gioca un ruolo interessante nella nostra vita, anche se spesso non ci rendiamo neanche conto della sua importanza.

Modificando la sorgente di luce, lo spazio cambia in forma e aspetto ed una stanza semplicissima diventa un posto particolarmente attrattivo.

Tutti dovrebbero capire quanto sia importante la luce in una casa perché la luce può fare la differenza in termini di effetto, suggestione, fascino e prospettiva degli oggetti presenti in una stanza e riveste quindi un ruolo importante soprattutto se si vuole enfatizzare il proprio oggetto di design preferito.

Light can be of various types: modern, rustic, classic or even an authentic piece of art.

It’s not easy to find the perfect light and the “role” it should take in a room. Light creates atmosphere in a room but, as interior designers teach us, we should never forget the functional role the light must have, which is based on its orientation and position. The topic “lights” can be wide and very complex. In this post I therefore would like to talk just about the living room’s lighting and dedicate more attention to other aspects of lights in future posts.

Le luci possono essere di vari tipi: moderne, rustiche, classiche ma anche autentici pezzi d’arte.

Non è facile trovare la luce perfetta per la propria casa ed identificare il “ruolo” che la luce deve svolgere in una stanza. Le luci creano l’atmosfera in una stanza ma, come gli Interior designer ci insegnano, non dobbiamo dimenticare anche il ruolo funzionale che essa svolge in base alla posizione e destinazione d’uso. L’argomento luci è molto ampio e complesso, così in questo post parlerò nello specifico delle luci della sala, o “soggiorno” che dir si voglia ,con l’obiettivo di approfondire l’argomento in post futuri.

The living room is probably the room we use the most in the house and the lighting may have different use or destination. Ideally, we can use different types of lighting to generate a nice mix.

A good mix is important, considering the possibility of different situations and activities we may have in a living room: such as reading, making atmosphere to watch a movie, dining with friends or, even more important for an interior designer: to emphasize a detail!

La sala è probabilmente la stanza più utilizzata e vissuta in una casa ed è spesso destinata a differenti usi. Idealmente si possono utilizzare diversi tipi d’illuminazione andando così a offrire un piacevole mix.

Un buon mix considera la possibilità delle differenti situazioni d’uso, quali l’angolo lettura, la visione di un film, una serata o cena con amici o per un altro scopo (molto apprezzato e considerato dagli Interior designer): enfatizzare i dettagli!

As you can see, there are some floor lamps, table lamps, chandeliers and spotlights.

Come potete vedere, ci sono piantane, luci da tavolo, candelabri e faretti.

The easiest and best way to change the mood of a room is to add a dimmer switch to every single light in the room; this gives us the possibility to soften or brighten the light. Dimmer switches are not really expensive, but can make a huge difference!

Il modo migliore e più semplice per trasformare l’aspetto di una stanza è quello di aggiungere un “varia-luce” ad ogni singola luce della stanza, in modo da potere regolare l’intensità della luce con facilità ed in base alle necessità. I varia-luce non sono costosi e possono fare una notevole differenza!

The “suspension Luminaires” is by far the most important light in the room, because it is somehow the representative element of a living room, for dimension and style. It can immediately indicate the owner’s taste and give us an overview of the entire house-style.
La “luce a sospensione” è sicuramente la luce più importante in una stanza, perché in qualche modo è l’oggetto rappresentativo della sala per dimensione e stile. Ci permette inoltre di capire immediatamente il gusto del proprietario di casa e ci consente una panoramica dello stile di casa.

There are so many different types of pendant lights that it’s almost impossible to make a complete list. Here below I will suggest you my favorites:
